He received the title of "the funniest man on earth."
Victor Borge (3 January 1909-23 December 2000), whose real name was Børge Rosenbaum, was a Danish comedian, composer and outstanding pianist who received the unique

popularity of radio and television in the United States and Europe. His blend of classical

serious music and comedy earned him many nicknames. He fled from Denmark when the

Nazis threatened and then lived much of his life in the United States. Because of his

performance anxiety in young age for fear of not being able to deliver what he thought the

audience expected, he found a new opportunity to become an artist. And this artist became

world famous for its mix of high comedy and classical music. Victor Borge left a great void

behind him, for his humor was unique. He died quietly in his sleep the day before Christmas

Eve in 2000, 91 years old at his home in Greenwich, Connecticut, United States, probably

with a smile on his face, but missed by the whole world.
